spacerBeing an involved parent is more crucial now than ever. Students need to know they have support as they navigate college life and strive to excel in a competitive arena. Research studies have shown that the more parents are involved, the more likely it is a student will remain enrolled and continue to graduation.

As a parent, you can get involved, support your student and stay informed. The Texas Tech Parents Association, with the support of Parent and Family Relations, is your gateway to getting involved, supporting your student, and staying informed.

tech_parent_pictPrograms and services include:

  • Family Weekend
  • Road Raiders Safe Travel Network

  • And More!

The Texas Tech Parents Association was founded in 1956 and provides a network of other parents and family members for you to connect with, student scholarships and recognition, and support for programs in collaboration with Parent and Family Relations to help make your experience at Tech nothing less than great!

Numerous opportunities exist, from posting on the online Message Board to coming to Lubbock for the weekend to volunteer at an event. Whether you are two miles away or 900, or whether your student is a freshman or a graduating senior, we encourage your involvement.

Ways for you to get involved and support your student:

  • Attend Family Weekend in the Fall
  • Call/email/visit your student on a regular basis
  • Send a care package
  • Talk to your student about his or her academic progress
  • Reach other Texas Tech parents
  • Get involved locally with fellow Red Raiders
  • Volunteer at campus events

We encourage you to stay involved during your student's entire collegiate experience at Texas Tech. You can do that by becoming a member of the Texas Tech Parents Association.

Visit the Texas Tech Parents Association for a complete list of membership levels, as well as ways to get involved such as a schedule of programs and events.
